Grading Criteria: guidelines for writing an A paper
You will write a 5-page seminar paper which must make meaningful reference to some of the readings assigned in class.

- Midterm Exam (20%)

Exams will contain material from lectures, sections, and readings. Since you are responsible for all of the material in lecture, some of which will not appear in the readings, it is advisable to attend all lectures. The midterm will include multiple choice, true/false, and short answers.

- Final Exam (20%)

The final exam will include an empirical section with multiple choice, true false, and identification questions as well as one essay question that you will answer in a blue book. The final exam is on Thurs. 5/15/08 at 2:45pm.

- Attendance and participation (10%)
This is worth 10% of your final grade. Students who miss more than 2 section meetings may have their final grade affected adversely. You are expected to actively participate in class in ways that demonstrate your knowledge of the course content and engagement with the ideas under discussion. You must bring readings to section and be prepared to discuss them.
